Griffin Pest Control was founded by Linden L. Griffin, Sr. in 1929. Mr. Griffin, Sr. began his career in pest control as a chemical salesman for Peterman's Ant Food and Roach Bait. His customers consisted of restaurants and bars throughout Detroit and its various neighborhoods. As he went door to door with his products, owners would ask him to demonstrate how to use them.
I'm giving a 5 star on behalf of John B. I have noticed that every time John comes to Rodeway Inn to do our monthly pest control, he is so thorough hi. We have had Griffin Pest Solutions service our home for years now and I am just now finally writing a review. For years we were taken care of by Al, but sadly Al retired last week.

$531 for two treatments! $150 initiation, $120 for second application, then $261 cancellation fee. I should have cancelled immediately when they no call no showed for the first two appointments. The person that finally showed up on the third attempt was very thorough but did not resolve my issue. The next person that came, did not do what I asked. Finally decided to cancel but then they hit you with the cancellation fee. Buyer beware.

Honestly wouldn't even give this company one star, but had to select something. First off, they lied to us when we first signed up with them and we were told we could cancel at any time at no charge, that was a lie. We ended up being stuck in a contract that we'd either have to pay 100s to get out of or keep the service till the contract was over.

On multiple occasions we don't believe the technicians even came out to spray as nothing was left to show that they did and we weren't notified they were even coming. Customer service reps were always RUDE. The list goes on and on. Highly don't recommend. Read reviews.

We live in a old house that was flipped before we purchased it, which means lots of nooks and crannies for rodents and spiders to make a home. Thankful for the Griffin team to help us get a handle on them as the seasons change. Thankful for the most recent staff member Dustin, but the whole team has been great. They've been on time and timely as they have serviced our home.

The technicians are always polite and they take care of any issues I am having. A couple of years ago we had a huge issue with wasps along our deck railing. They came right out and treated multiple times during the summer and got ahead of the issue the following year. I have never had a problem with them or their work and they always come when they are scheduled to come.

Scam artist! the employees have no idea what they are doing! they have came to our townhouse here at westbury village in auburn hills, mi. i said numerous times where the pests keep coming from, which is behind the fridge and by the stove, one of them was even inside the stove stuck inside the clock part of the stove, please tell me why they have came and sprayed our kitchen and unit numerous times and still no solution to the issue. then they insisted we have pantry bugs and that they could of came from an infested grocery item, we threw out everything in our pantry and still no solution to the issue because they were still coming out. so i finally typed up an email and stated that on their website it has examples of different types of pests! in the email i showed pictures of the pests and pulled a picture of a german cockroach and said if the company does not come and do their due diligence in spraying with the correct chemical i am going to write a bad review! i should not have to do their job and tell them what type of pest is in the home! which ive stated numerous times to the clubhouse manager that the company is not spraying the right chemicals and that these are not pantry bugs, they are roaches! they finally came for the 10th time this week to spray with roach killing chemicals and what do you know the refrigerator engine in the back of the fridge that westbury village provided us with was infested with the roaches! then griffin is blaming us once again and saying that we had crubs on the floor, which we don't. they came to spray again and put sticky traps around the kitchen floor but nothing beside the fridge or behind the fridge! i called to make a complaint and the ignorant representative said that he could not speak with me and would need to speak the the clubhouse employee judy which is as incompetent as him and thats why i am writing this review because i have had enough! this pest solutions company that hires employees that have no idea between a cockroach and a pantry bug! i am going yo post pictures of when i has first started taking pictures of them to prove they were roaches, then a picture straight from their website of a roach since the employees couldn't tell the difference! then pictures of when they finally sprayed with the correct solution without putting sticky traps, then coming again and putting sticky traps for no reason because the roaches had been coming out already all over the place the other day when they finally sprayed with the correct solution.

Signed up for a contract and didn't read the fine print hard enough (of course, there was never any documents handed to me with fine print on it, nor were the details of the contract described to me before signing). Our family suffered some financial tragedies halfway into the contract, and I called in an attempt to break contract, only to be told there was a hefty fine to cancel. *Sigh*.

My bad, I guess. I did sign the contract after all, and it's my responsibility to be familiar with the terms. But then the contract ended. and I get a robo call. " this is Griffin Pest Solutions. We are calling to inform you that we will be coming to your house on such and such a day to perform our service." Uuuuuh, what? No, you are not. I called. Told them my contract had ended and that I was no longer interested in service.

The woman I spoke to confirmed that my contract had ended, and canceled the impending appointment. But then yesterday, I got yet another robo call saying they would be coming out! These people don't value their customers. At all. They are only out for your money, and they will be shady to get it. Save yourself the headache and find another company.

I made an appointment with this company to get rid of carpenter ants that were coming in through the attic. The first technician that they sent out couldn't get through the opening to the attic. The second technician didn't go into the attic, but looked up there from the opening and said he didn't see any ants. The opening is 40' from the area where they were getting in!

I paid the invoice, but was not happy. Next, they sent someone over who left a hangtag on the front door saying he sprayed outside but couldn't spray inside because we weren't home (we were). There was no appointment made, and when I called to complain, I was told I had a "verbal contract" with them for additional services. I did not agree to any additional services, did not sign a contract, and didn't make any additional appointments. These people continue sending me invoices for services, and I have now contacted my attorney to resolve this matter. Do not use Griffin under any circumstances!

I've NEVER had a bad experience with this company. I used them for my previous residence (about ten years) and now for my current (about 1.5 years). Technicians always friendly/knowledgeable, phone contacts equal to that. If ever I've needed to have them return (lone spider ) they've been quick and efficient. I can't think of one thing negative to say about them. I'll continue using their service for as long as I have a need.

Disreputable company. October 10th 2017 I paid Griffin $767 for their most complete pest control package. They came out and sprayed the eve and foundation then installed 16 refillable termite / carpenter ant plug bait traps in the ground near the foundation of my 1200 square foot home. Every quarter they would arrive and re spray for $105 each time.

After a year they sent me an invoice for $300 to re bait the plugs. This is where I felt exploited. It took me 30 minutes to open all 16 traps, remove, inspect and replace the bait, yet they wanted $300 for this service? I called Griffin to cancel. They informed me I didn't own the traps and that they would be coming to retrieve them because of liability.

I paid them $767 yet I don't own the traps? They said this was in my contract and it was, but buried in the fine print. They claimed it was a liability to place ownership of the traps with the customer. In my opinion this is ridiculous and dishonest.

My wife called this company on Friday 8/3 to get pricing and details. The representative asked her if she would like to schedule for a Tuesday (8/7) appointment. She said yes, but they told her that a complete payment of $300 is required via credit card over the phone prior having the service performed. She told the person she did not have her credit card and she would call back on Monday 8/6 to pay and confirm if she was interested.

My wife did neither as she was still had not settled on a specific company. On Tuesday 8/7 at around 8:30AM I was surprised a tech was at our door. My wife later told me that this was not supposed to happen. They showed up on their own accord. DO NOT EVEN CALL THIS COMPANY! They use shady and deceptive sales techniques to sell you. I spoke with a manager by the name of John and he told me they record the phone calls and he heard my wife say yes to the appointment.

He asked if I wanted to hear the phone call and I said I trust him. I later found out by my wife that she never called back to give them the requested credit card payment. They took it upon themselves to show up and perform the services without following their own set procedures and then John lied to me about my wife's phone call. They have terrible customer service.

This company recently merged with Pest Arrest, a company that has received great reviews by my neighbors. When I called them I learned that they are now Griffin Pest Control. I had a coupon for a free treatment, and asked if they would still honor it. They told me that they would give me $20 off a monthly treatment. When I called, I let them know what I needed treated, they told me how much it would cost and we scheduled an appointment.

I had to take off from work early to meet the appointment time, and they never showed up. When I called, I was told that they had attempted to call me to schedule an appointment but I never answered. First, they didn't. I had no missed calls or voice mails. Secondly, I had already scheduled the appointment with my initial call. I regrettably decided to reschedule the appointment.

The technician who came out was nice and professional. However, I asked him not to bait anywhere that my cat could possibly get to and noticed after he left that there were definitely places my cat could easily access that he had baited. The technician didn't have me pay or leave a bill. The next day, the company called me and told me that the treatment that I had ALREADY received was actually going to cost over TWICE as much as what they told me.

The price that I was given originally was for the treatment that I had received, but I was told that they had given me the wrong price. Had I known the actual cost, I would have called another company. Vanish has done great work in the past, and I regret not calling them this time. They refused to honor the price that they had given me. I know that I should have requested something in writing before I let the technician set foot in my house.

I regret trusting that this is an honorable company that operates in good faith. I don't normally write reviews, but I just thought that folks should know about this before they do business with this company. I have never experienced something like this before.

WORST company I have ever dealt with. Charging me 250$ for "winter time" big removal. In Michigan. But could never provide me with what they did. And just kept billing me. And then sent it to collections. Their service didn't even get rid of my problem, customer service is horrible and they rip people off. NEVER AGAIN. If I could sue them I would.

I canceled the service and they still took our money and have refused to return our money to our account. contacting BBB monday morning. I also couldnt add comments unless I used one star they deserve 0, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are dishonest and give you a run around. I was directed to a guy named Paul 3 times and he has not called me. I never signed a contract so they stole my money and are facing charges. Contacting attorney.

I paid $300 for a canine unit to come check for bedbugs on Wednesday, January 25th. I've had these bites/rash since I moved into my house in early December. I had visited my doctor 3 times and have been scheduled to see a specialist. I had a feeling they were bedbugs but never found any signs other then the rash! So after 2 months of no answers I decided to spend the money to make certain they weren't bedbugs.

They had BOTH dogs go through my house and they didn't find anything! I was very relieved to know I didn't have bedbugs but still frustrated as to why I didn't have an answer. Yesterday, while doing my regular checking of my mattress I finally found one! (5 days after the dogs were there) I called to let them know and asked if I could be reimbursed since their inspection clearly failed.

If not the whole amount, at least a portion. They refused. And even had the nerve to say they can't be certain when this problem started. I could have just brought them in yesterday. So 5 days ago they wouldn't have been there. SUCH BULLSHIT! I can't believe I just threw away $300 for a failed inspection. They were in and out of my house within 20 minutes.

And didn't even move my bed to search under and around it. HUGE waste of money! I will not ever use this service again and highly recommend that you don't either! Don't waste your money!

Very Bad Experience with this Company. They did a heat treatment for 6 hours including setup time. 10 am-4pm. When I entered my apt at 4:30pm I came across a bed lying onto the wall in the living room. When I tried moving the bed to my bedroom I observed a bunch of bugs are alive on top portion of the bed. Got surprised and called those guys who did the treatment.

He listened to me said schedule an heat treatment again, so they can work on it. How ridiculous it is! I felt so unhappy after their action. Spent whole night to clean up the room and wash all clothes as per instructions. Again on the third day it was scheduled. One person came from the company and just did a chemical treatment and left in less than 2 hours.

But still the problem was not solved. One of the guys was new to this profession and getting trained. I went to my apt @10:00 am if they need any help. A guy standing in kitchen said I don't know anything, just getting my training. Other guy was in the bathroom for a long time and came outside and said "We are all good, you guys can come back in 5-6hrs." How can someone spend a thousand of dollars without solving the issue.!
