Bill is my termite and pest control guy. He has been doing this a very long time and I rely on him completely. He is very thorough and pro-active. Go with their monthly plan and you won't regret it!

These guys rapidly went from hero's to zeros! We purchased our house in November 1999. In early 2000 we discovered termites and we hired Ocon to eradicate them. They used the Sentricon system which worked very well. For the last 20 years we've paid them every year to monitor those Sentricon stations. Additionally, every few years we've had an issue. with ants.

After a quick phone call to Ocon they have accessed the problem, taken care of it and billed us. Problem solved. Easy and no drama! We recently discovered that we have mice so I called Ocon and Brian came out and gave me a verbal quote. I was then sent an electronic (PDF) copy of the contract to sign. However, the form might as well.

John sanitized and rodent-proofed my entire basement and crawl space. He was was very diligent and professional. It was a very tough job but he hit a home run to keep the pests out. I finally have peace of mind!

I'll start with the positive - the people answering the phones and the technicians are very nice. I contacted this company due to a Bed Beg infestation that originated in my sons room. I was panicked and the OCON technician was quick to respond. I had removed my sons bed for trash and the OCON (John) inspector came and instructed me to thorough prep the house and remove all clothing, curtains, pictures from the wall and electrical plates.

I did that and more. I threw out all 3 bedroom sets and the living room furniture. I am a single mom and MOVED (packed up all clothes, took curtains down, took pics off the wall) myself and my 2 kids out for 4 WEEKS to allow a proper treatment to the house. 2 treatments (by Bill) were completed and I was told I could bring new furniture into the house.

Since I was concerned (at my own doing) I had brand new furniture (living room set, 3 bedroom sets, along with new pillows, bedding, and all appropriate covers) delivered and during the 3rd inspection the technician (Bill) said I was all clear. A month or so has gone by and I saw a bed bug in my BRAND NEW BED. John the technician came to the house and confirmed this.

We looked at each kids room and there is no visible evidence of bed bugs. John called the owner, and the owner concluded that this is a new infestation and I needed to pay for another full treatment. THIS IS NOT A NEW INFESTATION - I work 2 jobs (1 in a laboratory and 1 in a restaurant) and take care of my kids and do not go anywhere. Since John agreed with this, John thought that I should call the owner and explain to him.

Owner was not available to take my call. I was then told (by John, since owner won't call me back) that I was breach of contract because I should have signed up for the monthly service. When the monthly service contract was presented to me - it was presented as a subsequent service for any other pest needs i.e., spiders, mice, stink bugs. I actually considered it since we do have mice.

I would have done anything I needed to for the bed bug issue, since I have spent $16,000, between furniture, bedding, treatments etc. I have since called the owner 3 times and no return phone call. If he were to call - I would ask how Bill was able to conduct a thorough inspection? He has physical limitations and my king size bed takes 2 people to move?

Why was I given an all clear with no mention of the only guarantee would be with a monthly contract? Why did John tell me that a special oil was going to be used on my wicker furniture and Bill knew nothing of this? Why did Bill hand me glue traps intended for mice when I asked if he had bed bug traps during the in-between treatment weeks? Which is your story - a new infestation or breach of contract?

At the end of all this - I am left with my brand new bed infected, and no phone call. The ethics of the owner are downright wrong. Please do not call this company. Also please check the BBB website for additional negative reviews. :(

Very little value added. Despite being on a monthly maintenance contract, Ocon did nothing about a festering rodent and squirrel problem. When we literally called it to their attention, they simply shrugged and said it was out the area of expertise. We were left on our own to find experts. To that end we did and all ended well. We've found a new service who views it as part of the duties to call irregularities out of their domain to our attention as work with the specialist.

I was impressed and well served with this company. Both John, who evaluated my home, and Henry, who treated the house, were professional, friendly, knowledgable and thorough. They gave me all the information I needed and patiently answered all my questions. It was a totally satisfactory experience.

A few months ago, I discovered I had bed bugs 3 days before I was set to move into a new apartment. Naturally, I was completely hysterical, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep. I called Ocon to come out and asses the situation for me. John came to inspect, and made me feel so much better by letting me know the infestation wasn't that bad. I still left behind everything I owned and asked them to come back to my new place to make sure I hadn't taken any with me.

I was all set to pay $700 to have them exterminate, if for no reason other than my peace of mind. A different inspector came out to my new place (I can't remember his name) He saw no evidence of any bed bugs. He could have just taken my money, but his exact words to me were " I couldn't sleep at night knowing I took your money when I don't see a problem here" I was pretty floored by that.

Because of that, I recommended them to my new landlord who manages a lot of properties and he started using them. Any company that is that ethical has now gained a customer for life, and I make sure I recommend them to anyone I can!

I am very disappointed with this company. The company we used for a home inspection before buying a house contracted them to do the pest part of the inspection. The guy showed up, looking professional, wen over the house, inside, outside, up in the attic in the basement, he seemed to know what he was doing. He told me everything was fine, and gave a quote should we decide to hire them in the future.

Fast forward a few weeks, we bought the house, we are ready to move in, I was about to call the guy to hire them, but decided to get a second quote to compare prices. The other exterminator shows up, goes through his routine, and when he gets to the attic he calls me. It turns our we have a bat infestation. He showed me where they sleep, there was bat crap all over the attic, and then we went outside and he showed me 16 different point of entry that bats can use to get into the house.

Bottom line, by not noticing the bat signals during the inspection, the OCON technician is costing me money. Had he seen it, this would have been paid by the seller. No I'm stuck with the bill.
