Acrobat Ants
Report
Acrobat ants are small, shiny, black ants with a heart-shaped abdomen. These ants are named after their movement patterns; when they are excited, they point their abdomen in the air like an acrobat. They are wood-destroying ants that do not eat the wood but simply live in it, similar to that of carpenter ants.
Asian Beetles
Report
The Asian beetle is orange in color with black spots. They are commonly mistaken as the ladybug, which is red. Asian beetles are a common household pest that invades in the late fall and winter. They prefer warm weather and congregate most often on the southwest side of structures facing wooded areas.
Bald-faced Hornets
Report
Bald-faced hornets are black and white striped wasps. They're larger in size than the yellow jacket or your average honey bee; however, they are more closely related to yellow jackets than they are to hornets. Bald-faced hornets much resemble their yellowjacket relatives as well, with black bodies and a predominantly white-patterned face.
