If there's anything we have plenty of in Arizona, it's pests. Here in the Verde Valley, pest control is needed year-round. Keeping your home or business pest-free, and keeping your property free of unsightly weeds, can be a real challenge. Ironically, our desert environment is one of the reasons why pests and weeds can be so difficult to control here.
The pest and weed species that that have adapted to life in the desert are the strongest of the strong, able to survive -- and thrive -- even in the harshest of environments.

General Pest Control
Report
If there's one thing we have no shortage of in the Verde Valley, it's pests. Our desert climate provides an ideal environment for many insects and arthropods. What would be "routine, " seasonal pest exterminating in other places is a year-round job here in Arizona, and keeping our homes and businesses reasonably pest-free is a challenge.
Fire & Harvester Ants
Report
Fire ants (shown here) and harvester ants are two species of reddish-colored, soil-dwelling ants that sting. If you have reddish-looking ants going into an out of a mound of soil on your land, then chances are that you have either fire ants or harvester ants. Both fire ants and harvester ants are capable of inflicting painful stings.
Weed Control
Report
In fact, most of the most troublesome weeds here in the Verde Valley aren't native to our area. They're invasive, meaning that they were introduced to Arizona from some other place where their numbers were kept in check by some animal that fed on them, the climates of their native areas, or some other combination of factors.
Organic Pest Control
Report
Many people prefer an all-natural, "green" approach to pest control that emphasizes non-chemical measures over the use of pesticides, and uses naturally-derived pesticides when they are needed. This environmentally-friendly, organic approach to pest control is also referred to as "Integrated Pest Management, " or IPM.
